The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) is an organization that has industry specific committees to create standards for everything. Body jewelry should meet ASTM standards for human implant (such as ASTM F136 for alloyed titanium), because these materials have been tested and proven safe to be in your body for long periods of time. Other jewelry should be treated as novelty pieces and only be worn for short periods at your own risk. All ASTM jewellery parts are precision machined in the USA on a Computer Numerical Control machine out of the solid, implant grade titanium (ASTM F136 6AI-4V ELI). NeoMetal is a company we use and the crystals we have are quality Austrian-made SWAROVSKI™ gemstones and lab-made opals. Every gem is hand crimp-set into the jewelry setting; no glues are used!
Neometal, anatometal, invictus and leroi are our main suppliers of ASTM titanium. Threadless jewellery is what we mostly stock from these companies and one of the best features of the threadless design is the huge range of push fit ends that are available.The threadless post that goes through your piercing and the disc on the back is all one piece. The front - pushes into the post via a thin pin that is attached to your chosen front. Then pin is then slightly bent which is what keeps it securely attached to the post. The amount the pin is bent determines how easily the end can be removed. This also means you dont have to remove your post to change the fronts!
Now, with 14kt gold the simple fact of the matter is that gold jewelry is considered beneficial for your health.Gold is considered far less likely to lead to allergic reactions, infections, and other more serious health conditions, and for that reason, is considered the far safer bet for when it comes to your body jewellery.
We care about our customers and the quality of jewellery that we pierce with so due to this we will not be using surgical steel or low grade titanium to pierce with anymore.
